Cape Fear Group Homes, Inc., now known as Cape Fear Life Enhancement Services, is honored to have received a $180,000 grant from The Endowment. This funding, distributed over two years, will support the development and implementation of a new staff role aimed at addressing the pressing issue of staff turnover.
The piloted role of Integrated Education Coordinator is specifically designed to tackle the challenges faced by Direct Support Staff and Employment Specialists. The coordinator will foster connections with community resources and cultivate partnerships, ensuring that staff training addresses all aspects of work-life balance. These efforts are intended to make staff retention more sustainable and effective.
Anita Ford, Project Development Coordinator at Cape Fear Life Enhancement Services, prepared and submitted the grant application.
This initiative is made possible through the generosity of The Endowment, an organization whose mission is to promote health, education, safety, and economic opportunity for residents of New Hanover County.
About Cape Fear Life Enhancement Services
Cape Fear Life Enhancement Services is a nonprofit committed to helping individuals achieve their fullest potential. Through personalized goal setting and skill-building programs, the organization provides Residential and Day Program Services to those it supports, enhancing their quality of life.
Life Enhancement Services’ 1st Annual DSP Training Carnival was a great success! We hosted six interactive training booths where Direct Support Professionals stopped by for a fun and engaging learning experience. Staff enjoyed the opportunity to grow their skills while connecting with others DSPs through good food, games, and prizes. It was a day of learning, laughter, and celebration of the incredible work our DSPs do every day!
